All protocol observed.

I welcome you all to this seminar/workshop organized to present an account of stewardship of the Police Assistance Committee (PAC) as regards our efforts to keep contributing our quota in the area of addressing the numerous security challenges confronting our dear country. You will recall that only recently we had a similar forum where we assembled major stakeholders from the Senate, The Police and The Military, saddled with the responsibilities to proffer solutions and suggestions on how our security problems could be confronted head-long.

EXPANSION / INTENSIFIED TRAINING BY PAC

The PAC in line with our mandate to keep assisting The Police and other security agencies in the country through intelligence gathering and information dissemination that could assist them in their operation to prevent and combat crime have been carrying out series of training programmes for our members both locally and internationally through organized seminars and workshops to teach ourselves on modern techniques to carry out our functions.

The PAC had intensified effort on conducting seminars/workshop to enlighten our members at the grassroots throughout the States and Local Governments all over the Country. Most of these seminars are being anchored and properly organized through Chairmen, Secretaries and PRO’s of Trade associations at the grassroots where they enlighten our members on the usage of on-line communication where information and intelligence gathering are passed-on to security agencies throughout the country.

In the same vein, we equally send our members to participate in international seminars/workshop on security matters organized by reputable bodies in other countries to address such matters. We are glad to say that PAC had continuously been expanding our scope of operations by relating with major stakeholders in the area of security both at the public and private sectors, such as extending participation at our seminars to CSO’s of corporate organizations.

COLLABORATION BETWEEN PAC AND SECURITY AGENCIES

The PAC wants to advocate for better collaboration between our organization and the security agencies by asking for utmost cooperation through recognition of our members operating at the grassroot level. As the generality of our members at this level comprise mainly of artisans and tradesmen/women who operate secretly, It is important for security agencies such as The Police, The Army, The Custom, Immigration etc. to duly recognize our members and relate effectively with them by giving them easy access to keep passing useful information and intelligence report to them as our mandate demands.

Thank you all and God bless.
